Workshop with Chia-hui Cheng | AMdp

Arsenal Movement dance project will lead a master class for the LAGCC community. Using material from Operation: Alice, AMdp will offer students the opportunity to experience “release work” (muscle & mind relaxation focused on letting go in order to create) partner work, where students will learn how to literally and figuratively share weight, and finally students will create their own short choreography using the skills they’ve learned.

Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, Operation: Alice is a work-in-progress contemporary dance piece focusing on what happens when an individual is thrown out of their familiar world and into an adventure. This piece explores how a person navigates and relates to the external physical world and internal private world, all the while asking the question, Who am I?
