The Holidays Reimagined - Concert with Danny Kean
This year we are very excited to present a reimagined holiday concert featuring renowned artist Danny Kean. It’ll feel like Danny is in your living room, performing holiday classics and sharing his personal holiday memories.
Carla’s Quince
Carla’s Quince is an immersive experience that invites audiences to become guests at Carla’s virtual quinceañera. This event will inform on the voting process and break down some of the issues at stake this election year.
Packing & Cracking
Do we choose our politicians, or do our politicians choose us? Packing and Cracking is a mapmaking party about gerrymandering: the pervasive practice of politicians choosing their voters rather than the other way around. Through drawing and map-drawing games, Packing and Cracking uses critical cartography, historical accounts of the first gerrymanders, and interviews with people dealing with gerrymandering today to show how easy and disenfranchising gerrymandering can be and ask what we should do about it.
Hephaestus
God of fire, god of the forge, the worker god: Hephaestus. At once a meditation on labor, dis/ability, and beauty, Hephaestus interrogates our relationships to our bodies, and our ideas of beauty and divinity. Drawing on texts ancient and new, Hephaestus explores the limitations of the body and the self, and our desire to transcend them. Written by Willie Johnson & Directed by Paul Bedard.
Fandango for Butterflies
(and Coyotes)
“Fandango for Butterflies (and Coyotes),” a new play Inspired by interviews with undocumented immigrants from Latin America living in New York, the piece will take the form of a fandango, a community celebration where stories are brought to life through live performance, music, and dance.
The performance will be in English and Spanish with supertitles, making it fully accessible to Spanish and English-speaking audiences.
